On April 15, SUNY Korea held the 2017 Fall Semester FIT information session at COEX. About 200 people participated in the event, including Kelly Brennan, vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Success at FIT and Jongsoo Kim, vice president for administration at SUNY Korea.
Jongsoo Kim, the Vice President of SUNY Korea, started off the information session with some welcoming remarks. He noted how Korea was the third country where FIT would be opening a campus in, and how this will help the Korean fashion industry. Explanations on the curriculum of FIT as well as introductions to Fashion Design and Fashion Business Management followed.
Magda Francois, Director of Admissions at FIT, rather than just explaining about the admissions process, stressed the importance of an applicants' lifestyle and learning ability and gave other practical tips. After the presentations were done, around 100 participants received one-on-one counseling.
Kelly Brennan, vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Success at FIT in New York expressed her high hopes for the campus, "Through a curriculum identical to that of the New York campus, I am expecting a lot of the graduates to become the next leaders of the world fashion industry.
FIT at SUNY Korea which is scheduled to open this fall has the same curriculum and faculty as FIT in New York.
